We are opening up the Confederation Park Warming Hut for the ski season and we are looking for hosts to take care of the hut and welcome our skiers, coaches and families. 

Host Role and Responsibilities

As a warming hut volunteer, your role is to create a welcoming and safe environment for skiers and their families. Each shift is staffed by two volunteers who are to stay in the warming hut. Here's what you'll do:

Key Responsibilities:

Be Welcoming

Greet everyone who enters the clubhouse warmly.

Ask what brought them to the park and share information about Foothills programs when appropriate.

Encourage Participation

Suggest casual, non-member users purchase a trail pass to support the park.

Provide Assistance

Offer access to the first aid kit if needed.

Direct visitors outside for washrooms and garbage disposal.

Ensure Space Guidelines are Followed

Glass Room: Reserved for coaches only.

Entrance Area: Open to everyone, boots are permitted.

Main Area: A "boots-off" gathering space; clothing changes should be done behind the curtained area when available.

Lost and Found

Place the lost-and-found bin outside during your shift and bring it back in at the end of the night.

Track Visitors

Record the number of visitors on the clipboard.

Note Feedback

Write down any suggestions or questions from guests, including contact information if they request a follow-up.

Please help with sanitizing equipment as well! Session Managers will need to assist with minor first-aid issues. Standard First Aid is required and will be paid for by FNSC if the volunteer does not have Standard First Aid Training. This volunteer commitment is for the whole season. Volunteer Credits 18 hours.
