Ferry people and gear from Elk Pass parking lot to the Elk Pass feed station on the club's tracked ATV. Requires provincial operators course certificate. Report to the Chief of Refreshments. Check in at Pocaterra Hut at the start of your shift.

Remain near Pocaterra hut during race, ready to provide medical attention in the unlikely event of an emergency. Report to Ann Lohka, Chief of Race Office and a registered nurse. Check in at Pocaterra hut at start of your shift.

Be prepared to provide first aid to skiers on the course or near the finish line. Report to Ann Lohka, Chief of Race Office and a registered nurse.

JR sweep 3km (ski 3km course behind the last racer) Duties: Ski 3km course behind last racer. You must be a strong skier. Report to Chief of Jackrabbits. Check in at Pocaterra hut at start of your shift. Volunteer hours: 1. Volunteer positions: 1.

JR 0.5km lead skier (young skier ~12yrs old to ski in front of the herd) Duties: Ski in front of the herd guiding them around 1km course. Should be fast young skier ~12yrs old. With your truck or SUV, tow the Nordiq Alberta trailer from Pocaterra Hut to Confederation Park. Depart from Pocaterra after the race at about 4:30pm. This trailer has a 2" hitch, a standard cylindrical electrcial plug, and weighs about 2000lbs. Report to transportation co-ordinator Tom Lambert.

Serve cookies & drinks to racers at Elkwood feed station, an easy walk from the Elkwood Amphitheatre parking lot. Dress warmly! Report to Maz Bouz, Chief of Refreshments. Check in at the soup tent outside Pocaterra Hut at the start of your shift.

Put on a safety vest and bask in the authority it confers. As cars enter the Pocaterra Hut parking lot, direct them to park sensibly and not block the path of the shuttle bus. Report to Ann Lohka, Chief of Race Office. Report to the race office inside Pocaterra Hut at the start of your shift.

Controllers take position at key points on the course to track skiers’ progress and ensure no one goes missing. This job requires skis, warm boots, warm clothes, a hardy soul, and a thermos of hot chocolate.This is a great job to do with a friend. You will get to see many skiers go by and feel like your’e right in the action!Need some volunteer hours? This is a good way to tick those off!  Report to Steve Layden, Chief of Controllers. Duties: Ski a 5km section of trail (Elkwood-Boulton) after last racer, collecting flags and signs. Must be a strong skier able to carry a backpack. Report to Scott Jensen, Chief of Course. Check in at Pocaterra hut at start of your shift. 

JR 3km marshal (ski to a point on the course, ensure 3km skiers stay on course) Duties: Ski to a point on the 3km course, ensure 3km skiers stay on course. Must be a reasonable skier. With your truck, tow the club's Defender trailer to Good Time Party Rentals (4605 76th Ave SE) to return rental gear, then to Confed golf course to unhitch. This trailer has a 2 5/16" hitch, a standard cylindrical electrical plug, and weighs about 5000lbs. Report to transportation coordinator Jeremy Myers.
