We are opening up the Confederation Park Warming Hut for the ski season and we are looking for hosts to take care of the hut and welcome our skiers, coaches and families.
Host Role and Responsibilities
As a warming hut volunteer, your role is to create a welcoming and safe environment for skiers and their families. Each shift is staffed by two volunteers who are to stay in the warming hut. Here's what you'll do:
Key Responsibilities:
Be Welcoming
Greet everyone who enters the clubhouse warmly.
Ask what brought them to the park and share information about Foothills programs when appropriate.
Encourage Participation
Suggest casual, non-member users purchase a trail pass to support the park.
Provide Assistance
Offer access to the first aid kit if needed.
Direct visitors outside for washrooms and garbage disposal.
Ensure Space Guidelines are Followed
Glass Room: Reserved for coaches only.
Entrance Area: Open to everyone, boots are permitted.
Main Area: A "boots-off" gathering space; clothing changes should be done behind the curtained area when available.
Task List
Lost and Found
Place the lost-and-found bin outside during your shift and bring it back in at the end of the night.
Track Visitors
Record the number of visitors on the clipboard.
Note Feedback
Write down any suggestions or questions from guests, including contact information if they request a follow-up.
Clean Up
Wipe down table tops with Lysol wipes.
Vacuum the floors if necessary.
By following these guidelines, you’ll help maintain a friendly, organized, and safe space for everyone to enjoy.
